An uninspired effort won’t get you the gold. To win it, you must be fully engaged in the task at hand and operating at peak efficiency. Not fully committing to the job is a common mistake for new internet marketers. You need a one to three year minimum commitment to grow to a six figure income. You also need self-confidence and the desire to succeed.
You must give yourself sufficient time to become financial free. It won’t happen overnight. If you purchased a franchise, it would probably take several years to turn a profit. You commit to working your online business for at least a couple of years. Then you can look at the results, adapt and adjust as needed, and keep on keeping on. You keep moving forward because you know what you want to accomplish. Basically you have to keep your eyes on the prize. It’s as simple as that.
Remember the fable of the tortoise and the hare. Everyone knows the tortoise wins in the end, not because he dazzled everyone with his speed, but because he was smarter, more determined and did not relax or give up.
Golfer Nancy Lopez says, “A competitor will find a way to win. Competitors take bad breaks and use them to drive themselves just that much harder. Quitters take bad breaks and use them as reasons to give up. It’s all a matter of pride.” You are a competitor in the internet marketing game, and the only way you will fail is by quitting. Winners never quit and quitters never win.
Brian Tracy is a self-development master guru whom I have been following for decades. He says that winners have a long-term time horizon. They know that it will take time to achieve their goals. They also believe that their success is inevitable. So they stay in the game until they win.
Robert Allen gives the ultimate simile. He has created wealth for himself through real estate, internet marketing and network marketing. Respect for his opinions has made him an author on the New York Times best-seller list. He compares success to climbing Mount McKinley, the highest mountain in the 48 contiguous U.S. states. His advice: imagine you have inherited a million dollars. But it is on top of Mt. McKinley! You have only one year in which to do it, so go get it!
Obviously, you and I are not going to be able to climb Mt. McKinley right now (well, maybe you can, but I could not). Neither could most of Mr. Allen’s staff. But given a year, we could pull it off if we KNEW what was waiting at the peak. Keep this in mind when you venture into the internet business world and take heart-within a year, with the proper guidance, you will easily be able to whip that climb!
At this point, most of us have heard about “The Secret” and understand the Law of Reciprocity. The Law of Reciprocity states that “if you do good for others, then good will be returned to you.” The Law of Attraction is similar. It states that when we do good for others with no expectation of gain, we attract good to ourselves. If you think about it, sometimes it does feel great just knowing that we helped someone else.
